Windows trick-HIDE Files and Folder’s Using Command prompt

How to hide files inside jpg images in windows and how to hide drives in windows ,these are the two posts that i have written on hiding series of the windows.

You may want to hide individual folder as well to do so read on:-

In this post we will see how to any files or folders completely without any software (any external application).

Note:-You need to be logged in as administrator to use this trick.
You will see Administrator written on top of the command prompt when you open it.Follow these steps to hide your files and folders:-

Make a blank folder in any of your drive for testing if this works for you or not( it does work).

I have named the folder as “You” in my drive C.

Now open the command prompt by pressing “windows key + R” at the same time.

Note:-You need to be logged in as administrator to use this trick.
You will see Administrator written on top of the command prompt when you open it.

In this command prompt box type the following.

attrib +s +h C:\You
command for hiding files and folders in windows

And hit enter

Go back to the folder location and see

Voila your folder is hidden.

That’s it-Its real easy wasn’t it.

You will need to replace the drive and folder name with yours.

Now you can also go to folder options ad enable the show hidden files and folders option.

See your folder is not visible.

To un-hide your hidden files and folders simply replace the + signs in above command with – and you  are done.

You hidden files and folders will be visible again.

Now you can place any files or any additional folders inside this folder and enjoy.

It’s a great command, however, we can view the contents of that hidden folder. That’s the drawback of this. Is there any command which hides the folder and files as well?
