Hide Drives In windows 7,vista and xp

Starting with windows tips and tricks on how to hide things in a windows machine-I will go from folders to individual files then folders and then some individual files like text files.

Their are two good ways you can hide drives in your windows machine:-

Make a right click on my computer and click on “manage”

On the left hand side you will Disk management-double click on it.

Now you will have all the drives on the right hand panel.

Right click on the drive that you want to hide and Select drive letter and paths.

Click on Remove

You will be prompted by the message below,select yes and then you will again a warning select yes.

:-) Remember the drive letter of the drive that you made into hidden one.

When you want to make the folder visible just redo the changes that you mad.
Now only the add option will be available-click on it and rename the drive as it was earlier.

Go to run by pressing windows button+R and type in gpedit

On the new window go to Administrative Templates

Come on the windows components and in here  go to the windows explorer.

Now search for this term-Hide these specified drives in my computer and double click it.

Now select the drive from the dropdown.

When you want to make this drive visible again simply revert what you did to hide it.

You can also hide your individual files or folders using following two methods,

1-Windows trick-HIDE Files and Folder’s Using Command prompt(recommended)

2-Windows 7 trick-Hide ANY file or FOLDER

Just tried it. Hopefully, no issue after restart Windows. ;)

Thnx Jayce for stopping by and yeah their should be no problems after you restart,you only need to run this eveytime you launch fx.
