Save Webpages As PDF Files Or Images

Their must have been times when you are browsing and wished to save a webpage so that you could read it later on.
And to do so you must have saved the whole web-page-but why do it now if you can save your favorite web-pages as pdf files.

In this post I will show how to use web2pdf to save web-pages as pdf files,instead of saving the whole webpage.

Some cool features of web2pdf extension are-It integrates with a variety of browsers and it also save the pdf files with name of the web-page that select to save as pdf file
In this post we will see how to use web2pdf to save web-pages as pdf files in a pc.

How to use web2pdf

As you read this post-go to tools tab in the firefox menu and select the add-ons option.
Under add-on click on the get add on tab
Search for web2pdf and install it.
Bookmark this page as you will need to comeback after you restart your firefox.
Now that you have restarted your firefox you will see a yellow folder somewhere on youre browsers bookmarklet section-in firefox this is typically near the searbox.

All that done,now lets save a webpage as pdf file-I am going to take a post of mine “free tweaks for windows 7″

After you Open the webpage click on the web2pdf icon that was created after the installation of you new plugin.

Now you will see your selected webpage is being converted to a pdf file.

In a couple of seconds you will get a download link to the pdf file you just created.

Make right click on it and select save link as,and save the page to the folder that you want it to be saved.

Now you have the webpage saved as a pdf file.

If  you are using a different browser you can directly convert web pages into pdf files through the web2pdf site.

Bonus for firefox users-Their is a extension called as fireshot that enables you to take snapshots/pictures of webpages.

Unlike other extensions, this plugin provides a set of editing and annotation tools, which let users quickly modify web captures and insert text annotations and graphical annotations. Such functionality will be especially useful for web designers, testers and content reviewers.

The options that this plugin offers are:-

- save to your hard disk/flash drive in following formats-PNG, GIF, JPEG, BMP
- webpage images can be printed
- webpage screenshots can be copied to clipboard
- e-mailed
- sent to configurable external editor for further processing.
