Building backlinks is one the most important factor for any SEO at the moment and most the times Google page ranks is mainly determined by these backlinks.

Let me put it this  way having good backlinks will increase your page rank and as your page rank increase your traffic will improve and we all know that with traffic comes the money.

Though I am fairly new new to this blogging arena,but I have done intense study on how to build backlinks and what precautions should be taken while you do so.
Being still a beginner i have also created some mistakes hwile building a backlinks in my quest for SEO,and I don’t want you to commit the same mistakes.
Always bear in your mind that backlinks are not always good-some of them may even harm your websites pagerank and you may not even know until its late.

Creating backlinks for the purpose of search engine optimization is all about getting linked naturally-that means if you are linked by a website then you must have been worthy of it.And doing it this is way really hard as it will huge amount of time and even more effort.
As I have said above that building backlinks is one of the major  factor for higher page rank and so you got to have backlinks if you want to make your blogging venture a success.

Precautions to be taken while building backlinks

Precaution #1:-If I am warning you about it its quite obvious that some bad guys are out their and they are waiting get hold of people who are imaptient and want huge number of backlinks in short time.
If you want success in blogging then you  should be patient and try to do things slowly build 3-4 backlinks in a day and that too on blogs that are related to your niche.What these guys do is just spam your links in some classifieds websites and this may even leave your links in some of the blacklisted blogs.
And having backlinks in  a blacklisted blog will surely hamper your SEO.

Precaution #2:-Until recently link exchange was one of the main ways of getting good page ranks,but now the Algorithms have changed and the search engines have been made smarter.

What is link exchange?
Links exchange is like mutualism(you give me backlink and I will link you)-I hope you got the idea.
Search engines can now easily trace out the reciprocal links and may even penalize your blogs page rank.

Preacution #3:-Creating baclinks in pages/websites that are not Indexed.
Being a newbie you may leave links in websites that are not even indexed,without even caring about anything-although you think that the you are creating backlinks, but in reality you are wasting your time as your links in such websites will not be crawled until they are indexed.
So make sure you make use of tools to know whether a website has been indexed or not and then leave links.A simple way to do so is intall the alexa  tollcar in your browser and it will do the rest for you.

Precaution #4:-Leaving links without relevant anchor text.

what is an anchor text?
Well do you see the links that are not a web address but when you click on them you are redirected to a post or website that is related to the text that you clicked on-that text itself is the anchor text.

How to make good anchor text?
Make your anchor text related to the post that you are making the backlink for.

Now for example let me take one of my blog-Blogs earning most
Click on it and you will see the resemblance between the text and the real post.But again this will not be good place to leave for such a post as its not related to this post.

Precation #5:- Creating backlinks in websites that are not related to your niche.
All the major search engines want to provide their searchers with the most relevant and precise results they want and to do so they have to take care it or else poeple would stop using their services.
Theirfore when a website related to your niche links to you then it appears  natural as you being linked/referred since these two websites have common ideas.
So try to leave links in websites that are related to your niche.

Precaution #6:-Abrupt and Sudden link building
We all know the proverb “slow and steady wins the race” the search engines are programmed to decide the winners similar to this proverb.
And doing it slowly will also keep you consistent and in the long run will only benefit you.
So don’t think of getting overnight success.

Precaution #7:-Purchasing Links/backlinks

You must have seen some spammy emails or advertisements that keep on telling you-”Getting high quality for this much or that much” well thats what we are talking about here.
Try not to get them but why?
Firstly they will cost too much and secondly you site/blog maay be blacklisted if your links are not in the sites related to your niche.
An ultimately when you have a blog with  good page rank-don’t you do it either as this may get your precious site blacklisted by search engines.

Conclusion-Building backlinks for the purpose of SEO is all about how nicely and slowly you do it.Its about how patient you are and how much dedicated you are towards your blogs visitors.
Doing it the fast way may give you the popularity initially but then again in the long run you may face some unexpected results.Leave links in relevant places and never without a good anchor text.
