Decrease Boot Time In Linux

Decrease your bootup time to least in linux ubuntu

As i installed the karmic koala(latest version of ubutnu on my laptop I realized that the boot time was something around a minute and after I used this trick its dropped by 10 seconds.

Please bear in mind that using this linux ubuntu trick may cause some problems(i have not faced any as of now)

How to install

Go to your menu and in their select the terminal
In the terminal window copy this code and paste it their(to paste you need to press ctrl+shift+v) and hit enter

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-boot/ppa

Now copy the codes given below and again hit enter

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Sometimes the ubuntu keyserver is down so please do not panic and try after sometime)

Now you’ll be asked to confirm new updates installation-click ok in it and you are good to go .

Remember it will take around three-four boots before your boot time shows improvement-mine got to 29 seconds from 56 seconds after 9 boot ups.

Please leave your boot time improvements in the comments below.
