Firefox tip-Launch Any External Application Inside Firefox

Their is never a shortage with tips and tricks in the IT world and this is mostly true with the open source platforms.

In this post we will see how can external applications can be luanched from inside the firefox-yeah that’s true you can now launch any non mozilla application from within firefox itself.

All you need to do is install External applications button and life computing becomes a bit more easier.

To install the extension go to your tools tab on the menu and in their go to add on and search for the firefox extension.

Once the extension has been installed,the first task that we need to do is open the “Customize Toolbar Window” and drag the “External applications button” any where you like.

Drag the toolbar to the place you want it to be.

Now blank space will be created around that region.

To add any of the applications in the region that you have placed your External applications button simply drag and drop the file that you want to access from inside firefox and you will have your applications pinned up to the toolbar now.

Once you have pinned the desired program(s) in the toolbar area,your application right click menu will look like this.

You can use a 16px or 32 px icon to displayed in the toolbar(of the external application.

Now you can launch any desired application or folder by just one click from inside your firefox browser.
