Playing with windows 7 is really nice and easy,but what if you some how messed with the windows 7 operating system?

With the above lines said,We will see in this post how you can make image of your windows 7 installation.

This feature is present in all the versions of windows 7 (unlike windows vista).

Note:-You should try to make an image of your windows 7 installation as soon as possible after the installation as this will make your image small and fresh when ever you use it.

How to create an image in windows 7

Open your start menu and type backup.

Click on the Backup and restore option and then a new window will open up.

In this window,click on  Create system image.

Click on create a new image

Now you will have to decide where do you want to save your windows 7 installation image.

In my case I have chosen to save the image to one of my external hard drives (you can burn these images in multiple DVDs  as well)

Choose the drive that you want to store image in

Images of drives other than your windows 7 installation can also be made but then it will add up to your image size.

Select the drives that you want to include in the image

In the next windows you will get confirmation about how much disk space may be used to make your windows 7 image,if something does not look right you can still go back and change what ever you want to change.

Confirm the Restore image size

Once you have confirmed the image to burnt,a progress bar will appear while the image being created.

In my case i had to burn make an image of 18GB and it took around 22 minutes,this time may vary according to your system configuration.

Once the image has been made you will be asked whether you want to create a System Repair disk or not?

I would recommend to make a system Repair disk and to save it in a safe place.

Once that is done you are now set to play with your windows 7 with much more freedom.

When you want to restore the system image,simply go to system Recovery options when your computer starts and restore your system,with the image that we created earlier.

Talking about windows tips and tricks this on is going to be by far the best post i Have made so far.

In this post I will show you how to hide any file,folder(windows-hide your drive and How to use command prompt t0 hide files and folders have already been covered) in a jpg image.

Just test this thing out as you read this post and test this for your self-you will be surprised by the results.

So lets begin.

Best way to hide files and folders in windows 7,vista,xp.

Note:-you will need winrar(preferred) or winzip to do this trick.

Make a folder named whatever you want in your C drive-I have named mine “hide”.

Now put a jpg image this folder and the files that you want to hide.

Now select the files that you want to hide(leave out the jpg image) and right click.

Select add to archive and name it whatever you want I have named it hide.rar.

You folder should look something like this now:-

Now open your command prompt and type in “CD \”(without quotes) and hit enter.

Type CD / And hit enter

Next type CD and the directory name for me it will be “CD Hide”(without quotes).

Type CD Hide and hit enter

Now is the most important and our magic trick:-

Type in

“copy /b shoaib.JPG + Hide.rar shoaib.jpg”(again no quotes)

and press Enter

You will get a response like this:-

Points to remember:-

No quotes in the commands.

Remember the extension of your archive-.rar or .zip

Now check the size of the image,it should have increased by the size of your archive.

Have a look at the size of my jpg image

You can delete the original folder now.

To see your files that are hidden inside the image just change the extension of the image from .jpg to .rar,right click and extract the file thats it.

Starting with windows tips and tricks on how to hide things in a windows machine-I will go from folders to individual files then folders and then some individual files like text files.

Their are two good ways you can hide drives in your windows machine:-

Make a right click on my computer and click on “manage”

select manage

On the left hand side you will Disk management-double click on it.

Now you will have all the drives on the right hand panel.

Right click on the drive that you want to hide and Select drive letter and paths.

You will be prompted by the message below,select yes and then you will again a warning select yes.

click yes

Remember the drive letter of the drive that you made into hidden one.

When you want to make the folder visible just redo the changes that you mad.
Now only the add option will be available-click on it and rename the drive as it was earlier.

Go to run by pressing windows button+R and type in gpedit

On the new window go to Administrative Templates

Come on the windows components and in here  go to the windows explorer.

Now search for this term-Hide these specified drives in my computer and double click it.

Now select the drive from the dropdown.

When you want to make this drive visible again simply revert what you did to hide it.

-Run the micro house call rootkit
-component updates will be downloaded
-Now install the software

Moving on with the windows 7 virus removal series I will show you how to use super Antispyware Online scanner and ESET NOD32 Online scanner
Remember that to run both of these antivrus softwares you need to be connected to internet

Using the super Antispyware online scanner-you may want to have a look at the softwares required for hard to remove windows 7 viruses

-The best this about this software is that it has .olx extension so if your .exe’s and other files with the same extensions are corrupted this will still work.
-So go ahead and run it-you will see a screen about the product-see the button at right lower corner-click here to start-click on it
-If you had had the regular vesions of this software(which required a installation) this version does not need to be installed(its portable) and we do not want to run any installers since your virus may corrupt or prevent intallers from being run.
-Select the language
-On the next window click on the check for updates

Click on update

-After super Antispyware online scanner has been updated-it will install the updates

-Now click on scan you computer and select your primary drive(the drive with your windows 7 installation)

-NOD32 is one of the most efficient antispyware/antivrus softwares out their and its really good
-Once downloaded-double click and run it-check the terms of use
In the next window click on start and ESET online scanner will start downloading the ESET online scanner
-Once it has been downloaded,it will ask you to what part of your windwos 7 installation do you want to scan-select both the Remove found threats and scan archives

select the drives that you want to scan

-Now hit start and the scan will begin-have patience now, as it may take a while(it will download the latest virus signature database)
